Day 5 (May 30th) Another lazy day. We are waiting on the rain to arrive. Amy & I decided to go for a bike ride
before the rain so off we went. I did
3.5 miles and Amy did 6.0. The boys were
glad that the girls had each other so they didn’t have to go. LOL. I
had also walked 3.5 miles or 7000 steps.
Well the rain came in just a little before dinner. So Jeff and Mike cooked steaks on the grill
in the rain. We have been really lucky
with the rain here. Places around us
have been flooded and have had tornadoes along with torrential rain. Someone is watching over us. We have a few more days to go and then we are
off again.
Day 6(May 31st)Happy Birthday to my Mom who turned 88 today. Happy Birthday also to our friend Greg. Boy has this month gone by fast. We are now waiting to see our niece Jennifer
and her whole family. They finally
arrived. Her husband Dave is just as
sweet as he can be. Matthew is graduating with high honors from
high school this Wednesday, Rachel is 15 and has grown so tall and beautiful
and Madelynn who is 11 is funny and never stops talking. I have a new nickname that the kids gave me
“Crazy picture lady”. We took the kids
to Brackenridge Park for the evening while Dave and Jen went to see a band that
Dave has followed for many years. Amy
and I wanted to visit the Japanese Tea Garden that was advertized. It was very nice but not what either of us
pictured. It was very picturesque and
had a beautiful stone pagoda. We treated the kids to ice cream and then home to
wait for parents to get back. Everyone
left about 1030pm. It was sad to see
them go but we know that we will see them at Christmas.
