Wednesday, September 2, 2015 Upper Antelope Canyon
Today we are going into the Upper Antelope Canyon. We arrived about 45 minutes before we were
schedule to leave but before we did we were entertained by a Navajo Indian
doing his hoop dance. He had 10 hoops
that he danced with. It was amazing that
he didn’t trip over them. We had a short
ride to the opening of this canyon. Our
guide, Irwin was a Navajo Indian and as a young boy he used to play at the
canyon before it became very popular.
This canyon is very different than the Lower. It has less light and more floor room. When they have their flash floods the water
comes crashing through the bottom and washes out the sand. In the lower canyon water comes in from the
top and piles sand in the canyon. There
were also different colors to be seen as well as sun beams coming through. This is all that we had on our agenda today.
