September 7, 2015 Trip to the Watchtower at Grand Canyon

Monday September 7, 2015 Trip to the Watchtower at Grand Canyon

Good news everyone Mike got the new motor in and it works like a champ.  He still has more to do but the biggest part is done.  Unfortunately Mike is real sore so a hike today is really out of the question.  We decided that we would just drive to the Watchtower and hit the stops along the way that we didn't do yesterday.  As we were driving a coyote decided that it was going to cross in front of us.  I did get a shot of him as he was retreating into the woods.

FYI- the Watchtower built in 1932.  This tower is not a duplicate of anything else but a combination of many.  Many months of research to find the best examples of Southwest Indian design and masonry.  Elevation at the top of this tower is 7522 feet and it is the highest point along the South Rim.

Three hours later we finally got back and Mike finished up the AC.  After dinner we went down to the main bus transfer station and took a bus to go and see the sunset.  What a beautiful sunset!!!!
