September 21, 2015 A trip to Cosmos Mystery Area and Founding Fathers, Rapid City, SD

Monday, September 21, 2015 A trip to Cosmos Mystery Area and Founding Fathers, Rapid City, SD

We had a rent a car delivered to our campsite so we could get some errands done.  Our main thing today was to get my hair cut.  This was a little scary as I have had only 1 person cut my hair for the last 20 years!  Lucky for me she did a good job it is a haircut that I can manage.

We have been to Rapid City twice before so we looked for something that we haven't seen or done before.  We passed a sign that Cosmos Mystery Area so we were curious and stopped.  It was kind of strange and fun at the same time. This is nothing but optical illusions because of the angles of the hills and the way the house was built. But it is always fun to be put into these situations where your senses are confused.

Next we went to Founding Fathers, Black Hills.  This is the only one in the world.  It is an exhibit of life size sculptures of the historic painting "Declaration of Independence".  There are 47 statues staged inside of Independence Hall.  These statues looked so real that I was expecting them to move at any moment.  This reproduction was well done.

It was a nice day.
