Friday, July 10, 2015-Part 2-Trip to Otter Creek Loop and
Devil’s Punchbowl
We came back and made cinnamon buns for all of us and then
off we went. We wanted to start at the furthest
point and work our way back. But that
did not work out. We kept seeing things that we had to stop and see. Out first
stop turned out to be the Otter Creek Loop where we saw a waterfall and the
Rocky Creek (Ben Jones) bridge that was built in 1927. Of course the views were
a plus too. Next was Devil’s
Punchbowl. This was they believe a cave
in which the top collapsed leaving a bowl in which the water runs into it. At high tide the water shoots through the
top. Unfortunately we were not there at
high tide. We took at walk down to the
bowl seeing some tidal pools and natural bridges. We explored (me mostly) the caves and even
went through a tunnel that went from the bowl to the ocean. I barely fit through it. Mike did not fit at all.
