Sunday, July 12, 2015 Travel Day to Forks, WA and Rialto Beach
We were up early enough so Mike decided that he would wash
the front windows so I could take my pictures when I heard a big thud. Mike at first didn’t know what it was till he
noticed that a bird was on the ground and he was so dazed that he even let me
pet his head. We are guessing that he
ran into the side window. After a few
minutes he took off. We left Cape
Lookout by 8 am. It was a dreary day and
as we got closer to Washington State the weather wasn’t looking good. The roads were good but not as scenic as
California and Oregon’s coast. The most
impressive thing was the bridge going over the Columbia River. It was a long bridge and Washington State was
just as Amy and I envisioned it to be like.
We arrived at 2 pm and we parked the RVs.
We decided that we would go check out the area before
dinner. Forks is the town where the
Twilight books were based off of. There
is Twilight stuff everywhere even though the movie was never filmed here. We ended up at Rialto Beach. This beaches sand was a gray color and there
was driftwood everywhere. We collected
some different colored rocks. They are
going to look real pretty in a vase of some sort. It started to rain, something that we haven’t
seen very much of on this whole trip so we headed home.
We had spaghetti for dinner and played a game and then
called it a night.
Happy Birthday, Cheryl.
