Monday, August 17, 2015 Day hikes in Arches National Park
We left the RV at 530 am.
Even at this hour the temperature was sitting at 78 degrees but the sun
wasn’t up yet so we were okay with the temperature. We started our hikes heading towards
Landscape Arch whose total arch is more than a football field. We also stopped at Pine Tree Arch and Tunnel
Arch. This was a 2 mile hike. We then made a quick stop at the Skyline Arch
which was just a quick .5 miles. Then we
went onto Sand Dune Arch and Broken Arch this added another 2 miles. Mike and I were still okay so we headed for
our last hike to North and South Window, Double Arch and the Turret Arch adding
another 2.5 miles. Total miles for the
day 7 miles!!!!!
We left Arches and headed to Canyonlands to see what we
wanted to do tomorrow for our hikes.
This Park was totally different than Arches. Here we found meadows and different rock
formations and huge canyons. It was like
the Grand Canyon but more spaced out. We
decided what hikes to do tomorrow and then we headed home. This was a very productive day and we weren’t
too tired or sore.
