Wednesday, August 19, 2015 Walmart & Best Buy run and a side trip following the Colorado River
As we had nothing better to do so we decided to take a short 109 mile trip zone way to go to Walmart and to Best Buy. We had to travel from Moab, UT to Grand Junction, CO. We left around 8 and got to Grand Junction around 930 so we had breakfast at IHOP! We stopped at Best Buy, Walmart, Verizon store, Dollar Tree and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Took care of everything and headed home.
Just before we got home I made Mike turn down this road that was beside the Colorado River. SURPRISE!!!!! It turned out to be a canyon that followed the Colorado River. Beautiful cliffs, bluffs, buttes and plateaus. It was really gorgeous. We continued down this road for about 15 miles and we ran into a winery. Guess what we stopped and they had free samples. Must be our lucky day. Mike tasted 3 and I tasted 3 and we walked out with 2 bottles. The lady that waited on us told us about a place 10 miles up the road if we wanted to see some nice scenery. Off we went. We had to travel 5 miles up a good dirt road before we reached Fisher Towers and it was worth it.
Well that is all for this day. We are leaving tomorrow morning heading to Capitol Reef NP. It is going to be about a 4 hour drive and we will see what the west side of Utah looks like. Nothing will surprise us.
