We took our time and we still left before 9am. It was a nice 4 hour drive. We are going to be staying at Hill AFB which is just outside of Salt Lake City. We will be doing some sightseeing but Mike and I are planning on doing some research on our family trees. Salt Lake City has the biggest research center that I know of. Maybe we can close some of those empty gaps that we both have.
The trip was uneventful it was a nice ride. Mike thought we would be coming out of the mountains to a desert like surrounding and I thought that we would stay in the mountains. Seeing that neither of us had ever been to Utah we both were kind of surprised when the terrain started to change. WE still had mountains that were changing into a red clay color, then they went to a whitish color and then they went to a dark color. Salt Lake City is in a valley with mountains surrounding it.
The Air Force base is big and nice. The grounds are well manicured and the RV park was the same. We have a pull through concrete site that is level. This will be home for the next 7 days.
I may not post everyday but will when we see some sights.
