August 5, 2015 Ride into Grand Tetons National Park

Wednesday, August 5, 2015 Ride into Grand Tetons National Park

Well we left pretty early this morning in hopes of seeing some different wildlife like MOOSE!  We took the shortest road to get where they said it was possible to see them.  Guess what?  The road was Closed!  Go figure so we had to go back the same way and take another route.  We did the 42 mile loop, went to Jenny Lake  and all the way up to Colter Bay Village which is about 2/3’s of the way through the park.  The only things that we saw were a chipmunk, squirrel and a red tail hawk.  We saw nothing more.  We were so disappointed on the wildlife front but not the views of the Grand Teton mountain range.  We saw more glaciers than we did at Glacier National Park.  The highest point was over 13,000 feet high.

We traveled 255 miles today and we were gone for 10 hours a very long day.  Tomorrow is going to be a short day with just a 2 mile hike to a cold water geyser.
