Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Day 3 at Bryce Canyon NP, A short
2 mile hike down into the canyon and back.
Last night we met a new couple from Vermont here at the campground while
we were doing our evening walk. Yes we still have the energy to walk around
even after all of the hiking. Any way they came over and shared our fire and we
compared our fulltiming experiences. You know us we make friends easy.
This morning we got a late start since the weather was cool
and the hike was relatively short. What a mistake. We didn’t get to the start
of our hike until 9am and we did not expect the trail to be as steep as it was.
Well going down was easy but boy the return trip up out of the canyon was a
real Bear. We had plenty of water and we stopped often so we made it with no ill effects. Surprisingly
it took us 45 minutes to go down and 45 minutes to come back up. We stopped a
lot on the way down for pictures. I
think the Queens Garden Trail was the prettiest and you get to see Queen
Victoria at the end of the trail. Indian’s
believe that the hoodoos are really people turned into the hoodoos. Perfect example when you see Queen
Victoria!!!!!
After our hike we stopped by the General Store at Ruby’s Inn
checked on incoming mail and looked around before we headed home to eat lunch.
